Cordless Trimmer - Best Cordless Trimmers Brands Exposed!

!±8± Cordless Trimmer - Best Cordless Trimmers Brands Exposed!

Honestly, in this time and age the most practical way to maintain your yard is to purchase cutting tools such as hedge and grass reapers. Doing this can save you not only time but also money. Among the different types of trimmers, the cordless trimmer has gained more popularity as it is easy to utilize and convenient to operate. Generally, they are equipped with either single or double edge blades for precision trimming. Since they are battery operated, there will be no annoying tangling of electric extension.

Black & Decker Rechargeable Cutters

One of the best suppliers of rechargeable reapers is the Black & Decker Co. The price of their cutters ranges up to .99. The most expensive one is incorporated with high standard features to back up its high price. These cutters have two rechargeable batteries for longer cutting job. Some of the Black & Decker trimmers today have either bump and feed system or automatic feed spool system. The latter system is more convenient to have as it automatically releases the feed system if it needs more string.

Troy Rechargeable Trimmers

One of the popular cutters from Troy has motor mounted on top of the tool instead on the cutting head. This makes the tool distinguishable from other brands and models, especially since it is powered by battery rather than gas. The purpose of this design is to shift the weight away from the cutter's head. With this, the tool is much easier to maneuver while the motor is protected from dust and debris.

GroWorks Battery-powered Weed Reapers

Some of these trimmers are not designed with string feed mechanisms but with snap on plastic blades. These cutting tools have more resilient blades that their ancestors. Its battery is housed in a different compartment and is connected to the machine by a cable. When you go for GroWorks, choose the reapers that are ideal for one handed trimming.

Part-Time Lawn Mowing Business While Working a Regular Job

!±8± Part-Time Lawn Mowing Business While Working a Regular Job

No matter what the economy, the grass still grows. There is always someone near by who needs their lawn mowed and cannot do it themselves. These folks have a problem and you, the full-time employee wanting to start a part-time lawn mowing business, have the solution. They can pay you to mow their yard. Problem solved.

I often get the question of whether you can start your lawn mowing business part-time in the evenings and on weekends and keep your full-time job. The answer is a big yes!

The question is can you do it? If you have lots of energy, enjoy being outdoors and working in your yard, and can handle just 5 to 10 extra hours of physical work each week, you can start a part-time lawn mowing business and keep your regular job.

People who work 12-hour rotating shift schedules are in a terrific position to run a lawn mowing business part-time while keeping their full-time jobs because they have so many days off.

Marketing
First, you need to find some customers. Write a flyer using word processing software, print it, take it to your local copy shop, have 25-30 copies made, and distribute them around your neighborhood within walking distance of your house. You may want to use a half-page flyer so you can distribute to 50-60 houses. Include what you offer the prospect (lawn mowing, edging, cleaning off the concrete), your name, best phone number to contact you, your address so they know you are a neighbor and how much you charge. Since you are new to the business charge on the lower end of the average rate other lawn care professionals charge in your area. Five dollars cheaper than average may get your neighbors to stop using someone out of the neighborhood and start using you instead.

Another reason to start with your neighbors is they know you or know of you and we all want to help other people, especially people we know. Since these folks are close by, you get to go out, knock on doors and meet your neighbors while marketing your business to them. Smile, introduce yourself and tell them which house is yours or what street you live on and get to know a little about them and some things you might have in common. Hand them a flyer at the end of the conversation and move on to the next house.

Keep this up until you have at least one person ready for you to go home, get your equipment right now, come back and work that day and are pulling out their checkbook to pay you. If this happens, stop marketing that day, service your new customer and earn some money. Continue marketing the next day.

When you have the number of customers you think you can handle, stop marketing daily and only doing a little occasionally or when someone asks for your information. You will need to keep a few flyers on hand to give out. Be on the lookout for yards that overgrow and see if a lawn service comes to mow them. These folks may need someone closer who will service their lawn regularly. Be sure to visit them and ask.

Equipment
Do not buy any commercial equipment or go into debt. You only need the mower you use on your own lawn, a gas-powered string trimmer and blower to get started. If you have an electric-powered string trimmer and blower, you can still use them, but make sure the customer knows you will need access to an electric outlet and you will need a very long extension cord.

Alternatives to gas and electric-powered trimmers and blowers are the cordless rechargeable models. They are less expensive than their gas-powered cousins, cheaper to operate and much more environmentally friendly. If you have electric equipment that requires an extension cord, you will want to replace it with cordless electric or gas-powered equipment as soon as you earn enough money mowing to do so.

Starting within walking distance of your home eliminates the need for a truck or trailer to haul equipment to job sites keeping costs down. If you live within walking distance of the job you can put your equipment and gas can in a wagon or cart and pull your lawn mower along by hand. If you are willing to do this extra manual labor you are more likely to succeed because you are not afraid of hard work and not prone to overspending.

Earnings
One of the biggest reasons to have a part-time lawn mowing business is you make significantly more money for the time you spend working than at most other part-time endeavors.

If you charge to mow the grass, edge and clean up and you can do 5 lawns after work and on weekends each week, you will earn 0 per week. You will need to set 15% of your revenue aside after expenses (gas, parts, repair, replacement equipment, etc.) for self-employment taxes which you will need to pay each quarter. If you spend on gas and save for taxes, your net weekly earnings will be 5. Six weeks of hauling your equipment by hand will build physical strength and allow you to accumulate about 30. You could also resubmit your form W-4 at work to take the correct amount of extra money out of your pay checks to cover these taxes. However, if you are trying this to determine if you want a full-time lawn mowing business I recommend you become familiar with paying self-employment taxes quarterly.

After 20 weeks of mowing 5 lawns per week you will have netted nearly ,000. It will be less than this because your equipment will need maintenance and repair. That will not cost more than a few hundred dollars, so you will still have around ,700 if you save your profits.

Now you will have the cash to buy a good used commercial lawn mower. Once you have a commercial mower you will be able to increase the number of yards you can mow per week in the same amount of time it took with your residential mower, increasing your revenue. You may be able to mow 10 yards per week instead of 5, so your gross revenue will jump to 0 per week. After another 10 weeks you may have enough cash to buy a used trailer to haul your commercial equipment.

Remember that in many areas there are only 3 mowing seasons or about 40 weeks of steady work each year. If you spend the first 40 weeks earning enough to get some commercial equipment and increase your customer base, your second part-time year will be mostly profits.

Two years part-time in the business will allow you to decide if you want to start mowing full-time. You will know it is time to go full-time when you are turning customers away because you do not have time to service their yards and if you could take on those customers, you would earn more annually than at your full-time job.

Earning more means earning more than your current annual pay after taxes plus paying for the benefits you and your family need, like health insurance. If your spouse works outside the home, he or she may carry the family benefits leaving you free to earn lots of cash. You will have to save for retirement and pay your own disability insurance even if your spouse can provide the other benefits. Few companies offer spousal retirement or spousal disability coverage.

If you are willing to work during your off hours and not spend money on equipment you do not need, you can work part-time mowing lawns and earn a lot of extra money. You may also be able to eventually leave your job and run your business full-time.

How to Choose Between a Petrol Hedge Trimmer and an Electric One

!±8± How to Choose Between a Petrol Hedge Trimmer and an Electric One

Hedge trimmers are used to keep your lawn in order and looking great but it can be confusing when you decide to purchase one. There is a large variety available on the market including battery operated, electric, and those operated by petrol. Each type has its own perks and downfalls so evaluate your individual needs before you embark on your mission to purchase one of these incredibly handy tools.

The first kind that you should consider getting is an electric hedge trimmer. This one is typically lighter and smaller than the petrol ones. They are easier to operate due to being lightweight and don't restrain you for size. They are better for the environment and don't require you to constantly purchase petrol to keep refueling it, especially if you intend to use yours quite often. On the downside, if you have very large hedges to keep trimmed the electric trimmer might not do the job for you since power is limited. Another down side is that you need to be within 100 feet of an electrical outlet. For most people this isn't a problem but if you own a large property or have multiple hedges, it can be a real hassle to link extension cords to reach where you need to go. It is easiest to find electric hedge trimmers because they are the most popular and favored type to use. The size limit for these is typically branches that have a diameter of ½ inch or less.

You may also consider getting a petrol powered hedge trimmer. These ones are typically bigger and require more brute strength to operate and maintain. They are very portable and do not have a cord to limit mobility. This can be a huge positive for many people who don't want annoying cords standing in the way of getting the job done. They also are suited very well for people who have tough jobs in their path. They are much more powerful and can clean through the branches with less difficulty than an electric and especially battery operated hedge trimmer can. These have their own set of cautions attached though. They are very noisy and not environmentally friendly. They give off exhaust fumes while being used which typically get inhaled and can pose a health risk too. These are ideal if the jobs you are tackling are exceptionally difficult and for any reason you think that a petrol powered hedge trimmer is the only way you're going to get it done.

Regardless of which type you get, there are a few universal things to watch for. The safest ones require two switches to be on to operate to minimize injury. Other safety features are often included like a safety clutch so that you don't experience kickback when trimming or blades that instantly stop when power is turned off instead of taking longer, and a guard between the blade and handle so that your hands have the least possible risk of getting injured when you're doing the job.

Review of the Black & Decker Hedge Trimmer

!±8± Review of the Black & Decker Hedge Trimmer

The Black & Decker hedge trimmer has been known to be a great value and they come in a variety of models that are designed for different tasks. These great trimmers are known for affordability and durability. This makes a lot of buyers very happy with them. I will review of couple of the most popular models in this article. This may be a helpful read if you are in the market for new hedge trimmers.

There are several different models that are available from this well respected company. Some are lighter models and others are more heavy duty. There are also models that were designed to serve a specific purpose. It is important to know what you intend to use the trimmer for before buying so that you are sure to choose the right one for your needs.

The Black and Decker NHT 518 is one of the most popular trimmers by this company and it has received good reviews overall. This model has certain limitations though that make it not appropriate for everyone. This is a corded trimmer so it does not allow you to stray far from the outlet it is plugged into. The cord will let you go about 100 feet. For a lot of people this is plenty far for their trimming needs. For others this may not work.

One thing that people do love about this model is that it is lightweight and relatively quiet compared to other models. This is a desirable aspect for many people. This is especially true for people who only have a little trimming to do around the yard. This is a lightweight, yet durable model that is a perfect choice for home use. For those who have more extensive trimming needs there may be a model that is more appropriate.

If a cordless trimmer would be a better option for you, the NHT 518 may be a better choice. This trimmer runs on a rechargeable battery pack. This is similar to many power tools. The battery has been shown to trim over 1200 square feet on one battery charging in testing. This actually equates to a much larger hedge than the average home has. This would be equal to 100 feet of hedges that are five feet tall. The battery has plenty of juice to take care of a rather large trimming job.

Because this model has no cord it is able to reach farther or travel to various parts of the yard to trim different areas. This is more difficult to do with the corded models. This model is still quite light weight, but not as lightweight as the corded model. The difference in weight is slight and the battery is what makes this model a bit heavier. It is still comfortable to hold and use though.

It is important to consider the differences in models when shopping for a new trimmer. These models are both popular with consumers, light weight, durable, and can handle most trimming jobs with ease. Another reason these models are so popular is the price; they are both affordable and dependable. People trust the brand name and that is because of a long history of quality products.

Just consider the types of jobs you will be using your new trimmer for to determine which model is right for you. The black & decker hedge trimmer comes in many varieties that are designed for people with different needs. There should be a model that fits your needs just right. Take some tome and look at a few of them today.

Electric Lawn Mowers Can Be an Easy Choice

!±8± Electric Lawn Mowers Can Be an Easy Choice

Consumers today are being more and more conscience of their environmental surroundings when deciding what types of merchandise to buy. When it comes to lawn and garden equipment, electric tools can be a better fit for those who are concerned about environmental hazards. However, many people are skeptical about purchasing electric garden equipment because they are afraid that they will sacrifice quality, power, or speed. Electric Lawn mowers probably receive the most scrutiny of all of the equipment as they require longevity, power, and sometimes speed to get the job done in a timely, efficient manner. There are many advantages to using a lawn mower powered by electricity.

One prime advantage of an electric lawn mower is the fact that you do not have to continually purchase gas and oil to power and maintain your machine. Worrying about messy oil changes and pre-winter gas siphoning are gone, not to mention having to wonder how you will dispose of the hazardous liquids that you are removing. Another part of maintenance that is removed when you use an electric mower are changing spark plugs and air filters. So, in short, by switching to an electric mower saves you in the long run on expenses like gasoline, oil, air filters, and spark plugs, not to mention the mess that is created by maintaining, removal, and disposal of such items.

There many different manufacturers of electric lawn mowers including Black and Decker, Remington, and Neuton. All of these companies offer high end mowers that can compare to conventional gasoline powered mowers. The mowers can be corded, cordless, and rechargeable battery powered. The cordless battery powered mowers are especially good for those who are maintaining larger yards. Electric mowers are much quieter, and lighter in overall weight then gas mowers.

The biggest concern about choosing electric lawn mowers over a gas mower is the sacrifice of power. When it comes to cutting grass, power behind the blade is probably the most important feature in a lawn mower, so that concern is warranted. The manufacturers of electric mowers insist that power has not been sacrificed in order to provide an environmentally friendly, light, and quiet way to maintain your yard.
